The large whitetail buck standing in his meadow, occasionally glancing in my direction to be sure I am not a threat. Shortly after this photo, he laid down to rest. I shared a photo of him resting yesterday.
It has been my experience that it is much easier to accidentally get close to a deer than to walk up close to one on purpose. When I see a deer that I would like to approach and photograph, I try to walk very slowly, keep my head down because I try not to stare at them and I don’t walk directly towards them.
